Praying Mantis began with Wong Long. His disciple Fun Tong taught Lo Kwon Yu. Lo in turn taught several students to a senior level in the system; one of those taught was Cheng-Peng-Weing who immigrated to the United States in 1962. Master Cheng-Peng-Weing taught Manuel Agrella and left him as sole heir.
GM Agrella was instrumental in the founding or formation of several systems. He assisted GM Daniel K. Pai as the Vice President of the White Dragon Kung Fu Assocation. GM Pai and GM Agrella inducted GM Kalaii Kano Griffin, now of Kajukenbo, into Pai Lum family as the 1st Dragon and gave him the name Iron Dragon. GM Agrella was also instrumental in the founding of the Red Dragon Karate system and its AKKF. He granted Mark E.
