Grandmaster Dexter Cockburn
Grand Master Dexter Cockburn and Grand Master Steve Cockburn founded Kadojitsu System of Jujitsu in 1990. Grand Master Dexter Cockburn started his training at the age of six by his friend Sensei Tyrone Joseph who was a renowned Kyokushinkai instructor. Grand Master Cockburn studied a variety of martial arts including Jujitsu, Veejitsu Tee, Judo, Goju Ryu, Shoto Kan, Kenpo, Tae Kwon Do, and Okinawan Tae .The Kadojitsu System evolved from the best techniques of these systems. It was developed to keep up with our society by using methods of realistic (real world) training in self-defense.
Grand Master Cockburn has over thirty-five years of training in self-defense. He also has been a competitor in self-defense and full contact sparring. Grand Master Cockburn is retired from the ring due to a back injury. However despite this injury Grand Master Cockburn still instructs his classes in New York and performs at international seminars to martial artists, law enforcement, public schools and women’s organizations.
Grand Master Cockburn retired from the United States Army with twenty-four years of services as an Air Borne Ranger. Where he served as a self-defense instructor for many units and organizations around the world. While in the military Grand Master Cockburn was an all Army champion, fifth Army corps, seventh Army and second Infantry. Division champion in fighting three years in a row.
