Grandmaster Crudup began his formal training in 1971 at the age of 11 in Shotokan Karate at the American Youth Academy Karate Club in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania under the direction of Sensei Ernest Paramore and earned his Black Belt at the age of 14. He was also promoted to Black Belt in Moo Duk Kwan Korean Karate by Master Oscar Young Sul in 1975. Additionally, he earned his Black Belt in Chang Moo Kwan Tae Kwon Do under Grand Master Ozzie Wright, Jr. and Grand Master James Mitchell in 1979. He was a top-rated tournament fighter from the mid-70s to early-80s in the Tri-State Area (Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware) well-known for his tremendous kicking ability. He won numerous championships during this period to include the World Bi-Centennial Karate Games in 1976 and the Peter Urban American Cup Championships in 1977 and 1979. He also enjoyed a brief kickboxing career fighting in the Professional Karate Association (PKA) before entering the United States Air Force in March 1983. He spent over 15 years in assignments throughout the Pacific theater to include tours in Guam, Korea, Japan and Okinawa before returning to the U.S. in 2001. He returned to tournament competition in 2005 to win the Black Belt Sparring Grand Championship at the Kombat Klassic in Waldorf, Maryland.
Grandmaster Crudup earned a 7th degree Black Belt in Kyo-Jutsu Karate under Professor Sayfullaah Al-Amriykiy and Soke Nat Abdullaah McBride, direct disciples of the legendary Great Grandmaster Dr. Moses Powell. He is a certified 8th degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and member of the Mighty Simba Dojang under the leadership of Grandmaster Furman Marshall; 8th degree Black Belt, Flying Eagle Hapkido Association in Singapore, and 9th degree Black Belt, National Tang Soo Do Federation. He was also awarded the title of Doju of Song Do Kwan Kong Soo Do and 10th degree Black Belt by the World Korean Martial Arts Union, Grandmaster Chang Hwa Park; the United States Head of Family Martial Arts Association, International Supreme Elite Warriors Council; and the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame Sokeship Council. Additionally, Grandmaster Crudup was awarded 8th Baysa by the World Kostrov’s Universal Fisticuffs Organization in the Ukraine. He has been inducted in over 25 hall of fames to include Aaron Banks’ World Professional Martial Arts Organization Hall of Fame, Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Fame, American Federation of Martial Arts Hall of Fame, Budo International Hall of Fame, Cosmopolitan Florida Hall of Fame, Go Sei Ryu Goju Hall of Fame, International Association of Martial Arts Hall of Fame, Latin-American Martial Arts Hall of fame, London International Martial Arts Hall of Fame, North American Federation of Martial Arts Hall of Fame, Southeastern Martial Arts Hall of Fame, United States Head of Family Martial Arts Hall of Honor, United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame, United States Martial Artist Association Hall of Fame, Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame, Universal Martial Arts Association Hall of Fame, USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame, World Head of Family Sokeship Council Hall of Fame, World Karate Union Hall of Fame, World Martial Arts Hall of Fame, and the World Martial Arts League International Elite Black Belt Hall of Fame.
Additionally Grandmaster Crudup was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Korean Martial Arts Education by the International Council of Higher Martial Arts Education, World Martial Arts League; a Doctor of Martial Arts degree by the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame Sokeship Council; a Doctorate of Martial Arts Philosophy and Science by the University of Asian Martial Arts Studies; and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Martial Arts from the Universidade Livre de Terapias Psicobioenergeticas, Salvador-Bahia, Brazil. He serves as a Senior Executive Advisory Board member for the United States Head of Family Martial Arts Association; Executive Vice President of the International Supreme Elite Warriors Council; Executive Council member for the International Council for Higher Martial Arts Education, World Martial Arts League; and President of the World Organizer of Martial Arts (WOMA USA) New Jersey Chapter.
Grandmaster Crudup continues to serve his country as a Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He was recently presented the “Men Making a Difference Award for 2007” by Congressman Chaka Fattah. He holds two associate degrees from the Community College of the Air Force, a Bachelors Degree in Business and Management from the University of Maryland and a Masters Degree in Human Resources Management from Chapman University. |
