Grandmaster Daniel Levac
At the age of 10, Daniel Levac had already developed a great interest in the martial arts, his grand-father was a professional wrestler. He began to practice Judo in Lachine at the age of 15 and then proceeded several other Martial Arts with Oriental Masters.
From 1965-1970, he competed in various Martial Arts competitions, specializing in Judo, Karate and Taekwondo, and placed first in many categories. In 1979, he participated in the first "Canadian Taekwondo Championships" where he was crowned champion in the Black Belt category.
In 1969, he obtained 1st dan Black belt in Taekwondo and recieved his diploma a year later from the "Korean Taekwondo Association." In 1972, he obtained his 1st dan in Kodokan Judo and practiced with some of the best Instructors in Montreal, QC.
While continueing to work on his degrees in several Martial Arts, he maintained a 28 year career as a Police Officer in the Montreal Urban Community Police Force. During this time, he worked as an Instructor teaching defensives tactics for his Police Department and also outside Security Agencies.
Through his many years of experience, Prof. Daniel Levac developed a new combat system named Ju Kitae, which has its origins insome Oriental Arts.
In order to better Cultivate and further develop this new Martial Arts Style, he founded the "Modern Martial Arts Association" Inc in 1971.
After 20 years of practice and teaching, he obtained the status of Master in Jiu-Jitsu (International Jiu-Jitsu) and Master of Taekwondo (World Taekwondo Federation) as well as honors from Regional Leisure Association of Lac St-Louis (Montreal.) He was also inducted into various of Hall of Fames.
