Grandmaster Ruben Rossy
Grandmaster Rubén A. Rossy was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. At age 11 he began training in Martial Arts, particularly in Goju. He later became a student of Grandmaster Carlos Paris, becoming one of his top students. As a competitor Grandmaster Rubén Rossy has earned many awards and prices and was the National Overall Champion in Kata and Kumite two years in a row from 1989-1990. In 1991 Grandmaster Carlos Paris named him the President of U.S.A.G.A. in Puerto Rico. In 1994 under the approval of Grandmaster Carlos Paris Master Rossy founded Tanren Goju-Ryu. In 1998 Grandmaster Carlos Paris promoted him to the rank of Tenth Degree, Hanshi and gave him the Doctorate Degree in Martial Arts Studies
In 2000, Grandmaster Rossy was inducted into the International Jiu-Jitsu Hall of Fame as Grandmaster founder of the Year. 2001- Co-Founder of the Latin America Grandmasters & Soke Council. 2001-Silver Lifetime Award Recipient at the International Jiu-Jitsu Hall of Fame. 2001-Recipient of the Grandmaster of the Year Award at the Latin-American Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
Grandmaster Rubén A. Rossy hold ranks in: Tanren Goju-Ryu: 10th Dan, Hanshi, Yosei Goju-Ryu: 10th Dan, Hanshi, Urban Goju-Ryu: 6th Dan, Kyoshi, Sanuces-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu: 4th Dan, Master, Jedan-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu: 2nd Dan, Sensei and Arnis: Instructor Rank. Grandmaster Rubén A. Rossy is Member of the following Organizations: Latin America Grandmasters & Soke Council, Inc. (LAGSC), Yosei Goju Ryu Association (YGRA), World Budo Alliance (WBA), International Jiu-Jitsu Hall of Fame and the Latin-American Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
