Master Jaime Abregana III
Master Jaime Abregana III started training in the martial arts in1985. He studied the art of Kenpo, Jujitsu/Judo and Kali. Besides training under the Abregana Self Defense Institute, he had the opportunity to study under Grandmaster Ralph Sisneros (Escrima/Kali) and Professor Randy Choy (Gung Fu System of Bak Mei).
Master Abregana is one of the West Oahu State Wrestling Champions when he was in High School besides playing football. He's currently in the U.S. Army in the Intelligence field and has also served his time in Kosovo during its invasion. He has been teaching in Texas and Korea during his tour under the Abregana Self defense Institute.
Master Jaime Abregana III has received numerous awards and decorations from Politicians and several Martial Arts Schools. Master Abregana has received the 2000 Certificate of Martial Arts Recognition from the Chinese Athletic Arts Academy and the 2002 Hall of Fame - Master of the Year Award from the United States Martial Arts Association, just to name a few.
Still today, Master Jaime Abregana III continues to expand his knowledge of the Arts. He has taken the concepts and techniques from various teachers and incorporated into his Family Art, in which he acknowledges it as “The Abregana Fist Method”. One of the Principles in the Abregana Fist Method is to never change a technique that works and to always keep a technique simple and direct. Master Jaime Abregana III currently serves in the Special Committee’s under the Historic Committee.
In closing, Master Jaime Abregana III states to all martial artist to “grasp whatever you can, learn what you want to learn, but never close your mind to something different. There is no time to be old-fashioned. One must progress”.
