- He is a nationally certified instructor of Ju-Jitsu, Taiho-Jitsu, Controlled F.O.R.C.E. (Law Enforcement training), is CPR certified; holds 4th degree black belt in Ju-Jitsu/Consiga Combat Taiho-Jitsu and additional black belts in Ketsugo Ju-Jitsu, American Taiho-Jitsu, Judo, Shutokan Karate, and American Combat Goju-Ryu Karate.
- Sensei Bornstein is an instructor in the All-Traditional Ju-Jitsu Society (Head Instructor James Jones Shihan, 9th dan); senior instructor and senior rank examiner in the American Taiho-jitsu Association (Master Alan Cunningham 10th dan); assistant instructor in American Combat Goju-ryu Karate (Head Instructors Robert Passarini sandan and Jose Alphonso sandan); a member and assistant instructor in the United States Sambo Association, Michael Galperin’s Combat Sambo School (Head Instructor Master Michael Galperin); a member of The International Blade Fighters Guild, and a guest instructor at John Payton’s Professional Karate Center, Boston Police Academy (Sensei Santos Hernandez rokkudan), MIT American Jiu Jitsu Club (Senseis Felix Dashevsky nidan), NYC American Jiu Jitsu Dojo (Senseis Tony Avila nidan & Jason Mcarthy sandan) & Huntington YMCA Ketsugo Ju-Jitsu program (Sensei Darryl Rambo nidan).
- He has also studied with other prominent masters, including: Professor Wally Jay (Small Circle Jujitsu), Leon Jay, Professor Dave Castoldi, Shihan Ed Melaugh, Master George Dillman (Kyushu-jutsu), Jim Corn, Bill Higgenbotham, Shihan Bill Wendell (Nisei Goju-ryu), Professor Tom Sotis (Amok Blade Fighting), and Master Yang, Jwing-Ming (Tai Chi).
- Sensei Bornstein has been nominated as “Outstanding Instructor of the Year 2002-3” by the USMAA & Hawaii Martial Arts International Society. He is an operations director for the New England Martial Arts Council and The Grandmaster’s Hall of Fame.
