Master Shane Laemmel
Shane A. Laemmel was born in Myakka, Florida. At the age of 8 yrs old, Shane started to learn boxing at the boys club in Florida. While growing up in a tough neighborhood, he later found interest in the art of Kenpo Karate under Mitch Halstead and Aikido under David Nicol. In junior high school, Shane became a competitor in freestyle high school wrestling.
In 1976, Shane moved to Hawaii. Shane had the opportunity to meet and study various styles of martial arts in Hawaii. Shane feels that one shouldn't be confined to just one art. He believes in diversity to help make oneself more balanced in the martial arts. By 1980's, he continued his training in Kenpo Jujitsu under Grandmaster Jaime Abregana Sr., in Ewa Beach, HI.
After graduating from high school Shane joined the United States Navy. Joining the Navy opened more opportunities for Shane to explore the martial arts. While in the Navy, he studied the Filipino art of Kali and competed in boxing.
In 1984 he founded the "Junior Boxer's League Athletic Club", for kids. Not only was he involved in the martial arts community, he also gave his time to start a softball league for girl's being it's founder & president and a coach.
In 2000 Shane returned to Florida, He augments his stand-up skills by continuing his training in grappling styles and from 1999-2003 has trained in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu with Romollo Barros and Larry Yap. He is also currently involved with his local judo club under Ken Talientich.
Shane is a balanced martial artist who believes that one should study various styles with an open mind to better your self. As of this writing, Shane lives in Florida and has mentioned there is interest in his style of martial arts (mix martial arts.) He is in the process of starting his own school.
