James Lew has probabley had more impact on the martial artist for the past 20 years than than just about any other trainer. He was one of the first to use scientific stretching principles to acheive flexibitity, and his exposure has been worldwide. Even the most althletic people, with the exceptions of dancers and gymnasts, don't really understand proper stretching. Most martial artist, who are suppose to be flexible, aren't nearly as flexible as the average dancer. The average martial arts stretching session takes place in a few minutes, and usually consists of a few splits and hurdler stretches. James Lew revolutionized that. His concepts are now being used in most training halls, and although he is (unfortunatly) not often credited, his signature is unmistakeable."
