Victoria Nesnick
Founder & Publisher
The Kids Hall of Fame®
Having been a kid for 57 years, a teacher for 30, and a parent for 27, Victoria Nesnick learned that kids accomplish extraordinary things generation after generation, but that no organized method exist to showcase all these inspirational achievements. Firmly believing that the world is in need of The Kids Hall of Fame, Victoria took an early retirement from her New York teaching position to make her vision a reality.
She started with a 4-page newsletter that evolved into a 32-page magazine, and is currently developing a set of books showcasing extraordinary achievements of kids, internationally, by age under 20. It will serve as the framework for a traveling exhibit and the future museum-like building. She created and maintains an award-winning website (www.TheKidsHallofFame.com) which spotlights over 120 nominees, among which is 7-year-old Ashley Torres, Karate Kidz Online Student of the Month.
Victoria has been researching and writing profiles of extraordinary people for decades. Her first hardcover book, Princess Diana: A Book of Questions and Answers, and the numerous local and national television interviews that followed, earned her the title "Local Authority on Princess Diana" from the British Tourist Authorities. Victoria's profile on China's Emperor Qin Shi Huang and his Terra-Cotta Warriors was featured as the centerfold story in National Geographic World, the cover story in Archaeology Dig magazine, in Boys' Quest magazine, a chapter in The Ancient World textbook, and in Preparing for Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test. She was also the initiator and columnist for "Schooltime" in a Long Island newspaper. Her articles on kids, parenting, and education have appeared in other publications.
She is the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships including: PTA Lifetime Achievement Award, Long Island University Criminal Justice Department and Coalition for Abused Women's Woman of the Year Award, March of Dimes Golden Apple Award, and Karate Kidz Online Oyama Youth Dedication Award.
Currently, Victoria serves on the Suffolk County Women's Business Enterprise Coalition Board of Directors, and previously served on the School-Business Advisory Board Public Relations Committee for Sayville Schools, and the Board of Directors for Nassau County Coalition for Abused Women and their Children. She has served as a Middle School Mentor and a judge for both the SONY Youth Talent Show and the Academy of Science-Youth Inventors' Program.
Presently a doctoral student at Hofstra University, she has previously earned NYS Certifications as School District Administrator, School Administrator and Supervisor, Advanced Studies in Educational Administration, and a Master of Science Degree in Education.
A New York resident, Victoria has traveled throughout Egypt, China, India, Morocco, Greece, Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Switzerland, Italy, England, France, Belgium, Holland, Canada, Mexico, and the US. Her proudest achievement is being the mother of Amy Gilvary, a talented vocalist, pianist, composer, and graduate of the Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. More importantly to Victoria, Amy is a beautiful, positive, loving human being who continually makes the world a better place for others.
If you know of individuals who have achieved something extraordinary and positive prior to age 20, Victoria invites YOU to nominate them to The Kids Hall of Fame®. No fees are involved. The form may be obtained at the
