Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa

Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa     Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa got his first big break as an actor in Bernardo Bertolucci's feature film THE LAST EMMROR. He went on to roles in RISING SUN, MORTAL KOMBAT, THE PHANTOM, THE ART OF WAR. SNOW FALLING ON CEDARS, JOHN CARPENTER'S VAMPIRES to name a few. His most notable television credits includes the miniseries NET FORCE, Disney channel's JONNY TSUNAMI, and series regular spots on NASH BRIDGES and SPACE RANGERS.
Tagawa, a U.S. Army brat, was born in Tokyo and moved a number of times living in such places as Ft, Bragg NC, Ft- Polk, LA and Ft. Hood, TX. His mother was an actress from Tokyo. The family finally settled in Southern California where Tagawa first discovered his love of acting while in High school. After graduating from the University of Southern California with a degree in Asian Studies Cary began a journey to learn as much about the world as possible in order to bring wisdom to his acting.
In addition to his acting, Cary feels he hag a philosophical mission in life. He is the creator of a refined form of martial arts he calls "Chuu-Shin," which means "to be centered in your heart and mind". The balletic movements are performed with an 8-foot staff and serve as a therapeutic art, much like yoga. Devotees of 'Chuu-Shin" are scattered throughout Southern California. Also a pioneer in sports training, Cary has developed a hybrid training system called Ninjah Sports which combines sports with martial arts. Tagawa will soon be found around the world, on the Net at www.tagawa.tv.
Tagawa currently resides in Venice, California, with his wife Sally and their children, Calen and Brynne.
