Professor Al Dela Cruz
Professor Al Dela Cruz was born in Waipahu, Hawaii. At the age of 10, he started training at the Waipahu Judo Club. At the age 15, he joined the Aiea Boxing Club.
In the 1950's, Professor Dela Cruz studied the martial art of Kenpo Karate under the late Grandmaster Sid Asuncion. In 1962, Professor Dela Cruz was the first person under Grandmaster Sid Asucion to recieved his black belt.
By the mid 1960's, Professor Al Dela Cruz and Professor Al Dacascos, another black belt from Grandmaster Sig Asuncion, cotniued their training under Sijo Adriano Emperado of Kajukenbo.
In 1998, Professor Al Dela Cruz was promoted to 9th degree by Sijo Adriano Emperado. Professor Al Dela Cruz is still under Sijo Emperado and currently teaches in Hawaii at his school, Kajukenbo Chu'an Fa Kung Fu School.
Professor Al Dela Cruz retired from the Honolulu Police Department. He is a man with a big heart. Always helping others, whether it be in the martial arts or personal.
