Professor Brain Look
Professor Brian Look was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. He first started his martial arts training in 1971 under Sensei Alex Cadang; he later studied under Professor John Pagdilao. After graduating from Damien High School, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He continued training with other instructors in different martial arts while in the military. When Professor Look joined the Honolulu Police Department in 1979 he got involved in Judo but it was not until 1983 when he got reassigned to Waianae, Professor Look met Professor Francisco Limbago of the American Jujitsu Institute.
He also studied the art of Kenpo Karate under Professor's Antonio Sotero and Joseph Kutzan Jr. and Kosho Ryu Kenpo under Daniel Saragosa. In 1993 Professor Look was the recipient of the Shoshinryu Youdanshokai Award for the perpetuation of the arts. In 1993 to 1994 Professor Look was awarded the AJI outstanding Dojo Award.
He continued teaching from 1993 to 1995 with over 80 students. In 1996 Professor Look was reunited with Professor Kutzan and is now the Head Instructor for the Kutzan School of Self-Defense, in Nanakuli, Hawaii. Professor Look holds rank in Kodenkan Jujitsu, Kenpo Karate and Shoshin Ryu Yudanshakai.
Professor Brian Look joined the Hawaii Kenpo Jujitsu Society in 1996 and was appointed to the Executive Board. He is currently the Standard Board Committee.
