Professor Tim McFarland
Sifu Tim McFarland has studied martial arts for over 30 years in the United States and China. His style is 7 Star Praying Mantis. He began studying Kenpo in 1969, earning a Black Belt in 1979, 2nd Dan Kenpo in 1982. Sifu McFarland studied Shorin-ryu Karate and weapons with Yamashibu, Yoshizaku. Sifu McFarland also studied Northern Shaolin with Sifu Au Chen, beginning in 1975, graduating in 1979. (He continued his studies in Northern Shaolin with several other masters including Madame Wang JuRong in 1988 and Professor Jiang ChenChun in 1987).
Sifu McFarland has studied Tai Chi, both Yang and Chen systems, since 1975 with many masters including Grandmaster Fu ZhongWen (Yang Taiji), and Professor Jiang ChenChun (Chen Taiji).
Sifu McFarland began his in-depth study of 7 Star Praying Mantis in 1976, Graduating under Sifu Wang XingHan in 1985. He has continued to study aspects of Praying Mantis with many famous masters including Professor Jiang ChenChun, Sifu Xu BoRan, and Grandmaster Zhang BingDou.

North Bay Kung Fu holds group classes teaching 7 Star Praying Mantis and Saito Buke-Do Karate (our family’s karate: a fusion of the elegant and powerful Shorin-ryu Karate Kata and weapons with the devastating techniques of Kenpo).
Sifu McFarland's accomplishments are extensive winning many national and international competitions. He now officiates and promotes many national and international tournaments; however, his primary focus is teaching serious students at his school in Sonoma.
