WELCOME TO
"THE GATEWAY"
the official website of the
HAWAII MARTIAL ARTS INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY

..Those who played an important role to Hawaii martial arts history....

It took one organization to bring these legends once again together and open the gates...

"It took one martial arts organization in Hawaii to bring these legends together again and open it's gates. The Hawaii Martial Arts International Society is proud to be the keeper of this Gateway and once again open it, bringing the past to life and revealing its treasures for generations to come. There are many who have played an important role in Hawaii Martial Arts History. Where it all began."

With its vast multitudes of ethnic cultures, the State of Hawaii has enjoyed a long and colorful tradition of martial arts training and innovation. In this martial art organization, we will explore the lives and bring to light the contributions made by some of Hawaii's martial arts legends. As well as those abroad.

These great martial artists have passed on to us their keys of knowledge and creativity. Now, as it was in years past, the gateway is once again open so that we may observe and learn from those legends.

It is with much pride that we bring back the past, examine the present and look to the future of those martial arts that were brought to the shores of the Hawaiian Islands and those arts that were created there, which have since spread to all four corners of the earth.

Although more recent teachers have continued the traditions, there is still much to be learned from the great masters of the past. The Hawaii Martial Arts International Society is proud to be the keeper of this gateway and once again open it, bringing the past to life and revealing its treasures for generations to come.

For the legends of Hawaii, this is a time of reminiscence; for future generations it is a moment rich with an honorable history, and filled with promises of things to come.

We, the inhabitants of these beautiful islands have been blessed with many treasures: the warm sun that brightens our days, the rich rainbows that add brilliant colors to our sky and the sweet fragrance of the magnificent island flowers. Just as these gifts of the Creator enrich our lives, the Memories, the Teachings, the Love and Aloha of our Teachers and Legends, will live in the hearts of the Hawaiian people forever.
