Hawaii Martial Arts International Society
Declaration
We, the Founders of the Hawaii Martial Arts International Society do hereby declare the following statements:
Whereas, the Hawaii Martial Arts International Society, was organized with honor, respect, dedication and to perpetuate the teachings and traditions of our founding fathers in the martial arts in the State of Hawaii, and abroad; and
Whereas, in 1995, charge was given by our Society's first Senior Advisors: Grandmasters James Muro, Sig Kufferath, Peter Choo and Ming Lum, to Professor Jaime Abregana Jr. to organize and charter the Hawaii Kenpo Jujitsu Society, now known as the Hawaii Martial Arts International Society, and to unite all practitioners who can trace their martial arts lineage to our founding fathers from Hawaii, to register and set standards by which all practitioners could have a unified mark of identity; and
Whereas, the Co-Founders and first appointed Board of Directors were: Professors Ronald Abregana, Jason Abregana, John Pagdilao, Antonio Sotero, Joseph Kutzen Jr., Don Tingcang and Robin Tanudra; and
Whereas,
Professor Jaime Abregana Jr. has appointed the Hawaii Martial Arts International Society Senior Advisors and Board of Directors, who represent all branches of the Hawaii Martial Arts International Society. The Hawaii Martial Arts International Society is the only organization in Hawaii and abroad which governs itself with policies written for the intent to welcome all martial arts schools and practitioners; and
Whereas, the goal of the Society is to unite all interested practitioners with the common interest of preserving and perpetuating our roots and traditions for the cultural and educational purposes that have been passed down to us this very day, to prepare the next generation to come, bringing together all practitioners with the common goal of sharing knowledge and promoting unity and respect among the brotherhood. Giving its members the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and training to be a well-rounded practitioner in the martial arts for the changing times without forgetting their roots and traditions as was pass down; and
Wherefore, we, the Founders do hereby submit the following declaration
Whereas, the Hawaii Martial Arts International Society is to be the main representative of our founding fathers in the ancient art of self defense in the State of Hawaii and abroad; and
Whereas, our Integrity for the martial arts calls for us to maintain high standards and good policies to govern this Society so that we do not encounter situations where Knowledge and Alliance that compromise our Integrity; and
Whereas, because of our prestigious efforts, anything that we do to advance the Society will benefit all the members and practitioners of the Society; and
Whereas, the Hawaii Martial Arts International Society is the only organization in Hawaii and abroad that has developed policies and has created a legitimate registry by means of which all martial artists who can trace their lineage to Hawaii are welcome to unite. It will also represent schools and practitioners of different disciplines; and
Whereas, on behalf of all the members of the Hawaii Martial Arts International Society, we the Founders, appointed Board Members and Representatives do hereby dedicate our knowledge, time, efforts, professionalism, honesty and resources as mentors for the health, welfare and benefit of the Society, upholding its policies, taking heed to the words of our Senior Advisors and respecting their decisions for the betterment of the Society according to its founding principals, as well as to perpetuate and preserve the ancient art of self defense of our founding fathers for generations to come and to promote unity and enhance the Spirit of Aloha for all in the martial arts community and the general public; NOW
Therefore, by the virtue of the power vested in us and under the Auspices by this document submitted by the Founder and Co-Founders do hereby submit this Declaration on this Tenth day of October in the Year Nineteen Hundred and Five A.D. in the State of Hawaii - USA.
